It is estimated that 80% of sales staff never renew their Government Registration Certificates by the second year of their career. Figures reported on www.payscale.com state that real estate agents in the United States earn an average salary of $48,043 per year (at 10 December 2014).

So bear in mind, when you hire a real estate agent to sell your home, you are, in effect, promising to pay them for their performance of a job well done. That means you will pay them nothing – and they will earn nothing – until they find and negotiate with a willing buyer for your house and deliver a sale price and terms that you are happy to accept.
